movie was Jaws, and the
boat decorating theme was Creatures of the Deep. Many thanks to
photographer Ardie Monzel.
2014: Venetian night was held on August 9. The evening's movie was Frozen,
and the decorating theme was anything having to do with cold and
snow. Many thanks to Ardie Monzel for photographing the entries.
2015: Venetian night was held on August 1. The evening's movie was The
LEGO Movie, and the decorating theme was LEGOs or the theme
song Everything is Awesome. Many thanks to Ardie Monzel for
photographing the entries.
2016: Venetian night was held on August 6. The evening's movie was Kung
Fu Panda 3, and the decorating theme was Kung Fu Panda.
Unfortunately, no boats were entered in the contest.
The 50-50 raffle held before the movie brought in $46. Since the
winner declined his $23 prize, the Association benefited from all
the money collected.
2017: Historically high water levels caused cancellation of the
movie on the beach. Venetian night was changed to Summer of High
Water. Recommended theme was anything to do with water, although any
decoration would be accepted. Only one boat entered the contest, but
it was beautifully and thoughtfully done.
2018: Venetian night was held on August 4. The theme was Day of the
Dead (Dia de los Muertos) or any Mexican fiesta theme, preferably
from the movie Coco. Two boats entered the competition.
